Smart Terrace is a packaged robot system that is installed on machine tools (machining centers, lathes, cylindrical grinders, etc.) for automation,

1. automation of cylindrical grinder
Two types of machines developed to realize automation of cylindrical grinders using the "Smart Terrace AIO-S7SF" will be exhibited.

Automatic keirette changer
Robot hand constant dimension device
Handles a wide range of diameters from 4 to 50 mm for cylindrical grinding workpieces. The robot hand is a hand that not only exchanges workpieces but also performs measurement.
Measurement accuracy is 2.2 µm at 3 sigma and automatically measures different diameters at up to 10 different locations.

2. automation of CNC lathe chucks including jaw change
Two types of chucks for automation using "Smart Terrace AIO-M12SF" + one reference exhibit

HQJC chuck: Replace one jaw at a time
AJC chuck: Three jaws can be exchanged at once with the exchange plate.
Both chucks have a jaw replacement accuracy of 10 μm or less, and the AJC chuck can be used for round materials, irregularly shaped materials, seating confirmation, etc.
~Reference exhibit
MAC chuck (Matsumoto Automatic Chuck Change System): Chuck can be changed in its entirety.
Are you required to produce a wide variety of workpieces, but cannot process them with the same chuck due to their various shapes?
The MAC has a structure that allows interchangeability of different types of chucks, and since the chuck can be changed according to the workpiece, a single machine can produce a wide variety of products. We will demonstrate the exchange repeatability at the booth.

The machine will also demonstrate robotized removal and attachment of lathe tooling.

This is a must-see for managers who are concerned about manpower shortage measures, productivity improvement, and investment in automation for variable types and quantities.
