The slide is moving slowly. (Or it isn't moving smoothly, or it has stopped moving.) I checked the hydraulic supply and the cylinder, but found no problems. What should I do?

After turning off the hydraulic pressure and power, clean and grease the chuck.

The workpiece was clamped in place, and machining was continuing with the same settings when, one day, the workpiece suddenly began to slip. What should I do?

After confirming that the cutting tools, coolant, pressure medium, and other components are in good condition, please turn off the power and clean and grease the chuck. If the problem persists, the most likely cause is an internal leak in the hydraulic (or pneumatic) cylinder.

Is there a recommended grease?

Please see here for recommended grease.

Where should I apply the grease?

Please direct this to Grease Nipple.

How should I apply grease?

Use a commercially available grease gun (that is clean) to apply clean grease.

Do you have any recommended grease guns?

Some commercially available grease guns have a large bore that interferes with the grease nipple seat. Please use a grease gun that does not interfere (one with a smaller bore). We also recommend using a lever-type grease gun with a locking mechanism. (MMK Power Chucks are manufactured with high precision and have minimal clearance, resulting in higher grease pressure.) Please click here for more details.

When should I apply grease?

Please supply grease to the mmk power chuck every 8 hours of operation.

How much grease should I apply?

If lubrication is performed every 8 hours of operation, the recommended amount is approximately 1 cc per location (i.e., per grease nipple). Depending on operating conditions, please increase the frequency of lubrication.

I greased it, but I'm not sure if any grease actually got in. What should I do?

To verify this, apply a slightly larger amount of grease and check that it oozes out from the gap in the master jaw. After applying the grease, please wipe off any excess. Applying a slightly larger amount of grease will not affect performance, but please be careful when rotating the unit immediately after greasing, as the grease may splatter.

I cleaned and greased it exactly as described on the website, but it still won't work. What should I do?

In addition to rechecking the auxiliary equipment, please disassemble, clean, and regrease the chuck. Please refer to the instruction manual for disassembly and cleaning procedures.

It still won't work. What should I do?

(The model name and serial number are imprinted on the chuck surface.

The grease nipple is broken. What should I do?

Please replace it with a new one.

What is the model number of the grease nipple? Also, where can I buy it?

Mainly JIS-A type M6 is adopted. However, some of the large chucks of 12 inches or more may adopt a larger grease nipple. Please contact our service center (TEL:+81-76-268-4122 ) with the model name and serial number of our products. In addition, it is possible to purchase it at the shop which handles our products. Recently, the direct sales website of factory equipment and tools is also increasing its handling. It is one of the ways to purchase our products.

I've lost the instruction manual (or the included tools). What should I do?

(The model name and serial number are imprinted on the chuck surface.

How often should the lubricant in an NC rotary table be changed? Also, is there a recommended lubricant?

Although this varies depending on each customer’s specific usage conditions, we generally recommend lubrication once every six months. Please refer to the stickers and nameplates affixed to the NC rotary table or the instruction manual for the recommended lubricant.

We’re going to start using an NC rotary table again after it hasn’t been used for over a year. What should we be careful about?

After replacing the lubricant with fresh oil, please run the machine for about one hour at low speed to break it in.

I accidentally hit the NC rotary table (with a cutting tool or something). It won't move (it won't rotate). What should I do?

Damage to the worm wheel is possible. Please contact our service center (TEL: +81-76-268-4122 ) or " Inquiry Form " for consultation. When consulting with us, please provide the model name (chuck example: ZA6-8-52-31), 5-digit or 6-digit serial number (example: 115350), the model name of the machine to be installed, and the usage conditions.

I accidentally hit the NC rotary table (with a cutting tool or something). It’s still moving (rotating)—what should I do?

First, check that there are no dangerous failure parts including the machine and equipment, and then remove the jig, etc. while paying sufficient attention to safety, and check that there is no abnormal noise or abnormal vibration in the NC Rotary Table. If any abnormal noise is generated, please contact our service center (TEL: +81-76-268-4122 ).
Check the servo motor load of the NC Rotary Table. If the load continues to be high, or if the load is high all over the circumference, please contact our service center (TEL: +81-76-268-4122 ).
Measure the various accuracies of NC Rotary Tables (runout of rotating surface in radial direction, runout of rotating surface in end-face direction, etc.) within the possible range, and compare with the data of Completion Inspection Report (attached to all NC Rotary Tables when they are new). If any abnormality is found, please contact our service center (TEL: +81-76-268-4122 ).

The system does not recognize the brake clamp confirmation signal for the NC rotary table (primarily LS51/LS52).

Please check to see if the clamping/unclamping indicator is operating normally. If it is operating normally, the proximity switch may be faulty. (Depending on the model, a pressure switch may be used instead.) For models equipped with an air booster, if the clamping/unclamping indicator is not operating, please bleed the air from the air booster.

How do you perform the air purge on an NC rotary table?

Please refer to Section 8, “Preparing for Operation,” in the Owner’s Manual.

Bleeding Air
Although the NC rotary table is shipped with as little air as possible inside, air may enter when connecting to the hydraulic supply port for the table clamps, or depending on the condition of the piping and hoses from the hydraulic unit. Please bleed the air according to the following procedure. When connecting the piping, be sure to fill the pipes and hoses with oil beforehand and then connect them quickly.
First, set the pressure to a low level (2 MPa (approx. 20 kgf/cm)) and repeat the clamping and unclamping cycle 2–3 times. Then, while the table is clamped, cover the bleed port with a rag or similar material to prevent oil from spraying out, slightly loosen the bleed port, and wait for about 2–3 seconds(If the piping from the hydraulic unit is long, or if there is a significant amount of air trapped in the piping, allow 5–6 seconds or more) to let the oil drain out before closing it.

Please repeat this procedure several times (about 2 to 3 times).
In addition, to remove air from the hydraulic lines—not just from the bleed valve—it is also effective to bleed the system at the hose and pipe joints.

Even when the NC rotary table is returned to the origin, the table does not stop.

Please check the proximity switch for the home position reset.

The braking force of the NC rotary table has decreased. What should I do?

Please check if the various media (power supply, hydraulic pressure, air) are supplied properly. Contamination of the lubricant affects the brake gripping force. Please replace with clean lubricant. The part number and the amount used are indicated on the nameplate of the product. If the display is hidden by the cover of the machine tool, please contact our service center (TEL:+81-76-268-4122 ) with the model name and serial number of the product.

I changed the brake fluid, but the braking power hasn't returned. What should I do?

We recommend replacing the brakes.

I'd like to know about hydraulic cylinder seals.
