Smart Terrace AIO-M
A packaged robot system for automating setup changes on machine tools (machining centers, lathes, cylindrical grinders, etc.)
“24-Hour Continuous Operation®” enables up to 8 unmanned setup changes over a 15-hour period from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. the following morning
▽ Do you have any of these concerns?
・You want to automate but don’t know how
・You have too many workpiece types to automate(high-mix, low-volume production)
・You don’t know which SIer (system integrator) to turn to for automation
・You want to automate your existing machines but don’t know how
・You want to use robots but don’t have engineers to program them
・You don’t have a system capable of unmanned, automatic setup changes through the night and large-volume stockpiling
Matsumoto Machinery’s Smart Terrace® AIO solves all these issues. As a manufacturer of machine tool peripheral equipment, Matsumoto Machinery has provided numerous design chucks, HQJC (automatic jaw changers), and NC rotary tables.
Leveraging this expertise, we are expanding our business as a system integrator.
The automation provided by Smart Terrace® AIO begins with the process of gripping (clamping) workpieces on the machine tool. Even when there are a large number of workpieces, we evaluate whether automation is possible for each one individually.
In some cases, this can involve hundreds of workpieces. Unlike conventional systems that merely transport workpieces, Matsumoto Machinery handles everything in-house—from gripping workpieces for machine tools, automatic setup changes, and robot interfaces, to workpiece measurement (including compensation software for NC control) and workpiece cleaning. Thanks to our proprietary (in-house developed) robot interface, we can also handle installation on existing machines entirely in-house.
We understand that many customers face challenges with robot teaching and programming.
Smart Terrace®AIO is a turnkey solution. The robot program is pre-installed before shipment. Furthermore, on-site commissioning is performed using the sensorless automatic teaching (teach-free) function. Of course, this feature is also available for customers to use.
You can choose from three types of stackers—S, M, and L—based on your stock volume and desired continuous operating time.
Furthermore, it features a multi-tier stacker that allows for up to eight tier changes per tier during unmanned nighttime operation.
Note 1: Robot I/F may be subject to some restrictions depending on the NC specifications.
Note 2: Depending on the shape of the workpiece, some automatic teaching functions may not be supported.
